      Online shopping has become increasingly popular among the public often entangled them in serious trouble. Because of the unprecedented de-escalation of internet-data tariff and change in shopping practice by civilian soared cyber-attacks in a proliferating rate. This essay going to focus on the pressing issues of internet safety like-cybercrime, cyberbullying, online scams, etc., and possible solutions to overcome this like- being educated, stay away from unwanted emails, cold-calls and controlling the shopping moods, etc.

      To embark on, because of aplenty of hacking techniques and show-off mindset of common people cyber-attack dramatically ruining the lives of many civilians in terms of - economic loss, privacy issues, stealing sensitive data, etc. In the recent era, people tend to use the technology and its associated devices at a great pace, however, it is impossible to stay away from online for diurnal activities. Hackers take this as an advantage,  loot sensitive data and sell it to big advertising giants for cash. Often hackers steal sensitive information of internet users and begin to bully them through social media. For instance, Cambridge Analytica data scandal shook the world a year ago.

        In addition to that, online fraudsters target people who often use online for the cash transaction. Because of the blooming of online market, it is inevitable nowadays to do online shopping, internet-banking, location sharing, etc., Those who unaware about the traps like fake offers, online lottery, luring emails promising bumper prizes, etc., are victimized easily by scammers. Once, they enter their login credentials without ensuring the credibility of the website their sensitive data may be stolen and sold on the darknet. For instance, accidentally I furnished my credit card details to one online fraudster once I realized that I'm going to be duped I canceled that transaction.

        Raising awareness campaign, educating people, stay away from scams are the possible ways that can mitigate the problems of cybercrime. People who often surf the internet are more vulnerable to internet crimes. Because of greediness and show-off mentality of people even educated are duped by hackers. Before entering our sensitive data in a website we have to ensure that there is "https" certificate and "padlock" symbol on the left top of the address bar. It is better to use the "Incognito" window for online payments and using an antivirus may abate the possibility of an internet crime victim. Avoid feeding valuable information in pop-ups, fake websites, and in the hands of scammers and stay update in this field can pacify this crisis.

        To conclude with, internet safety can be achieved if the concerned authority enforces stringent law against cyber-offenders and ensure a safer browsing experience for the public. Even though the government acts against hackers, it is in the public hands to be conscious and educated about online safety.
